The Elephant Carpaccio workshop is a great workshop for software teams to learn how to break stories into really thin vertical slices. While writing stories discussions arise about delivering value, priorities, testing and quality.

This workshop is a very practical, hands-on training. It can be done in about 2 hours. It can be extended with an even more practical session where we, together, go through the backlog of the team and start creating smaller slices in the real backlog.

Some topics that will be covered:

• What is a user story?
• Why should user stories be small?
• What is value, and how can you increase delivering it?

The result of the workshop is a backlog with small, vertical slices, implemented in code. Although it is a simple application, it gives the development team practical tools to make their only stories smaller, while thinking about delivering value.
